OVERCOMING GASTRIC PROBLEM

It's been a while since I posted my last writing..
I've been very busy lately..

Been swamped with work (recently moved to a new division), and with my wedding preparation (approximately a month to go!).

All the things I've been doing is actually exciting, but sometimes it makes me nervous too..
And sometimes, being (overly) nervous could cause excessive gastric acid.

I personally have quite a long history of gastric problems, ever since I was in elementary school.

I remember bringing biscuits or bread to school, just to keep my stomach from being empty.

Growing up, my tummy hurts and I feel nauseous every time I'm under a lot of stress, whether during exam days, or when meeting deadlines.

I was once being brought to the emergency room because I felt heartburn and pain in my left chest. I knew I was too young to get a heart attack, but I guess being careful is way better than being ignorant.
Turned out, I was having a quite severe gastric problem, and was forced to bed-rest for a week.
At that time, I was working at one of the "big-four" accounting firms, and was having multiple deadlines from multiple projects.
I got better after a week of bed-rest, but the problem reoccur 6 months later.

I took quite a lot of medications during those cases mentioned above. From the mild ones to the strong ones, because it got worse on each occurrence.

But now, I rarely experience gastric problems.
Not because I take medications, but because of consuming lemon regularly.

A lot of people were doubting me when I told them I take lemon daily.
"Isn't it acidic?" or "Won't it hurt your gastric?" are two of the most commonly asked questions.

Well, it is sour, but not acidic.
Lemon juice (not lemonade!) is actually alkalizing.
Therefore it counters the acid in the gastric and neutralizing it.

I personally drink lemon juice and apple cider vinegar every morning.
Not just to overcome my gastric problem, but also for detox.
Because sometimes we don't realize that the unbalanced diets, negative emotions, and others could cause our body to become acidic.
Consuming lemon juice and ACV alkalizing the body and rinse the toxins out.

Other benefits of lemon juice are including:
  • To soothe sore throat: Mix lemon juice with honey to help relieve the discomfort that comes from sore throat
  • To support weight loss: Lemon juice contains pectin, a soluble fiber that has been shown to help weight loss
  • It has anticancer properties

However, for you who have gastric problem, I think it is very important for you to control what you eat and drink. Some food/drinks you need to avoid are including:

  • Soda
  • Caffeine
  • Spicy food
  • Fast food
Please note that in some acute gastric problems, lemon is not allowed.
If you are experiencing acute gastric problem, better consult with a doctor :)
