JUST WANNA SHARE

I'd like to take this moment to share a bit about a "challenge" I'm facing because of the new lifestyle I adopted few months ago.

Ever since I'm on this new lifestyle (the efforts of clean eating and regular exercise), I've been receiving various reactions from many people around me.

Some are positive reactions, giving me support and telling me I'm making the right/good decision changing my lifestyle..
Some are actually got inspired by me and actually transforming their lifestyle too, step by step.

But unfortunately, I also received negative reactions.
Some told me that I'm doing this only due to the trend/hype, and it wont last for long..
Some told me that I'm no longer fun, and make fun of my posts on social media..

At some points I felt sad and a bit disappointed.
Why can't people be supportive on something positive?
Who am I hurting here? I'm not asking for anything from anyone.
I'm doing this because I was inspired by several people, and decided to transform myself for the better.
And I'm not forcing anybody to do what I do, because I fully realized that lifestyle change must be started from oneself.

Recently I had a conversation with one of my good friends.
She told me that she's been busy taking care of her father who has later-stage cancer, who has already in treatment for several years. His condition was already very weak, up to the point where (for sometime) he has to force himself to eat.
She's pretty much exhausted, and her mom too. She gave up most of her works so she could take care of her father.

We than conversed about how precious our health is, and what we're doing now will resulted in our health in later life.
Currently everything surrounds us could turn to poison, such as polluted air and water.
All that we could still control are what we consume (food and drink), and our lifestyle.

I also remember that I have several family member who passed away due to illness, including my grandpa who died due to diabetes that caused him to experienced stroke.

Even though sometime sickness/illness is unavoidable (due to a lot of factors, e.g. genetics), I don't want to get sick! That's why I'm trying hard to avoid it through changing my lifestyle.

At the end, I guess it is me who are responsible for my own health. It's me who have to take good care of myself.
I know we only live once, but I want to live my one-life in the best way I could have.
I'm doing my best to keep my family away from the hassle of taking care of sick-me (knock on wood ;)).
I want my future husband and kids to have a good quality life too.

So I think I'm just going to ignore those negative reactions, continue my "Healthy Lifestyle" efforts, and hope for the best.

What we do now is like an investment to our later lives.
So "invest" wisely..
Not just for your own good, for your family too..
