DETOX

Detoxification of detox is basically the removal of toxic substances from a living organism, including, but not limited to, humans

Why do we have to detox?
Consciously or not, we consume food and drinks that have bad items for our body. Doing detox helps counteract those less healthy items.

Some people do short and intense detoxes. But I personally been incorporating "detox" in my daily life.

Here are some suggestions for daily detox:
  • Warm lemon water: first thing in the morning, drink a cup of warm water with lemon
  • Fresh juice: on an empty stomach, so your body will absorb it better
  • Detox tea: drinkable throughout the day
  • Apple cider vinegar: alkalizes the body and detox the liver
  • Eat clean: incorporate fiber and avoid refined sugars, processed foods, alcohol, caffeine and non-organic fruits and veggies
  • Sweat: exercise, sauna, or yoga to remove toxins
In addition to daily detox, here are some detox methods that are also very relaxing ;)
  • Detox bath: a relaxing way to remove toxins
  • Massage: to increase circulation, stimulate the lymphatic system and remove toxic build-up.
Furthermore, here are some detox drinks for cleansing and weight loss:

I have tried several recipes mentioned above. Honestly, some do taste good, and some don't.
I drank them anyway, knowing that they're for my own good (mindset!).

Anyway, my daily detox routine is including:

Apple cider vinegar + lemon
When buying ACV, chose the brand that has “the mother” in it. I always buy Bragg, because it has "the mother" and it's also organic. For lemons, simply buy the best ones you could get.
At first I hesitated on drinking this, as I have the history of quite-bad gastric problem.
But after reading many articles, I've learned that both ingredients, even though they're sour, are not acidic but alkaline. Drinking them alkalizes your body and counter those acid came from the food/drink you've consumed (e.g. coffee).
Note: however, if you have bad gastric problem, I suggest you to consult with your doctor prior to doing this.

Infused water
The easiest and simplest way to detox. Basically I infused my 2,5 litters of water with lemon and/or frozen berries. You could also use: lime, orange, cucumber, mint leaves, etc.
The nutrients from the fruits will be absorbed by the water, and it'll have nice flavor too.

After doing this for a while, in conjunction with exercising 3-5 times a week, and (the effort of) clean eating, my body feels better and I feel a lot healthier. I also slowly lost some weight, although my goal is no longer to lose weight, but to be healthy.

But overall, I feel a lot better :)
